That head gasket is never going to seal correctly 😂 don’t do this to your engine. Just pay a machine shop to resurface the head. In most cases you don’t need to resurface the block at all.

One issue, that’s the Engine Block not the cylinder head. For anyone asking what’s the red stuff? That’s marking paint, what’s being demonstrated here he’s showing how warped the block deck is. Using a machined flat aluminum or steel block with the marking paint you can see dips or raised areas that were warped by the engine over heating. The spots that the paint didn’t get on, could create a gap big enough that the gasket won’t seal it.
